Americans for Prosperity-AL Celebrates Education Freedom During National School Choice Week
Montgomery, AL—Americans for Prosperity-Alabama (AFP-AL) said National School Choice Week is the perfect time to celebrate opportunities that fit learner’s unique needs as thousands gather around the nation to highlight access to a variety of education pathways.
AFP-AL has long stood for the value that education should not be a one-size-fits-all model that limits parents from making the best choices for their children. On WVNN’s “The Yaffee Program,” AFP-AL discussed the success of Education Savings Accounts (ESA) created for Alabamians by Governor Kay Ivey’s CHOOSE Act, resulting in thousands of applications being submitted on the opening day.
AFP-AL State Director, Adam Thompson, released the following statement:
“We are thrilled to celebrate National School Choice Week, a time to recognize and appreciate the diverse educational options available to families across Alabama. We are fortunate to build off the success of the CHOOSE Act which provides options that best serve Alabama’s learners and their future aspirations.”
Background
Last year, AFP-AL was a major supporter of the ESA program, urging lawmakers to empower families with education options that meet their personal needs. AFP-AL launched a grassroots campaign in support of the CHOOSE Act and education freedom as recently discussed by Thompson on the Love Your School Alabama podcast.
